Welcome to Zimba District

Zimba is one of the fifteen districts that make up Zambia’s Southern Province. Situated approximately 410 kilometres southeast of Lusaka along the Great North Road (T1).The district stands as a strategic and vibrant gateway connecting communities within Zambia and beyond.

it shares boundaries with four other districts in the province namely, Kalomo to the north, Kazungula to the southwest, and Choma and Sinazongwe to the east. To the south, Zimba enjoys an international border with Zimbabwe, separated by the majestic Zambezi River. Geographically, the district lies between Latitudes 16° and 17° South and Longitudes 26° and 27° East, covering a total land area of 5,245 square kilometres.

According to the 2010 Census by the Central Statistical Office (CSO), Zimba District had 13,284 households and a population of 66,725, consisting of 32,186 males and 34,539 females. With an annual population growth rate of 2.9%, projections estimated the population
