To fund local infrastructure, education, health, and empowerment projects identified by communities is is managed through Constituency Development Committees (CDCs) under local authorities. Projects under CDF include
Classroom construction, skills training, health posts, boreholes, bridges, youth & women empowerment, bursaries, etc. it was increased
from K1.6 million to K25.7 million per constituency in 2022, and later to K30.6 million in some cases, the target beneficiaries are
Citizens at constituency level, especially vulnerable and rural communities it is implemented by
Local Authorities (Councils), in coordination with MPs and community members.
The CDF brings decision-making closer to the people, allowing communities to participate in identifying their development priorities. It also supports the broader goal of decentralization and poverty reduction.

Legal Framework and Why it Matters
